Named after the majestic volcano in Lauca National Park in the extreme north of Chile. This wine has lots of character and is rich and powerful but possesses remarkably fresh acidity too. It originates from the Maule valley where the Carignan vines are approximately 100 years old. Bursting with aromas of berried fruits and black fruits as well as plums and rhubarb with additional notes of violet, black tea, nutmeg, and cedar and hints of smokiness and minerality. Beautifully balanced palate, rich, lively but refreshing. Structured but elegant tannins and a long, lingering finish with a gorgeous underlying minerality. 70% Syrah & 30% Carignan.
